So you've booked a photography session and you want everyone to coordinate but matchy matchy outfits aren't your style. Well, the first step is to select a color palette or tones to work off of.

For example, in the first photo below  there were different shades of green supported by basics likes tans, denim, whites and grey along with a few gentle patterns and textures to create a look of cohesion.

A little texture goes a long way, don't shy away from adding in some velvet, lace, soft prints, sweaters and accessories

. Jewelry is also a great way to add richness to a photo but avoid pieces that you will have to fuss with and fix often.

In Southern California, there are so many beautiful colors represented in our local chaparral on the trails. While it may not be  lush and vibrant at all times of year there is actually a lot of color to be found regardless of season.

You also can't go wrong with the basics like black, white, beige and one or two pops of color.

A few words of caution, steer clear of extremely vibrant colors, muted is better. Also, try to avoid everyone wearing big prints or everyone in the exact same plain colored item, we want subtle variety without competing looks to help everyone shine!

tip - try on your clothes all together before shoot day to make sure you like how it looks & Text it to me if you'd like my opinion!
